With prices starting around US$18,000 and out-of-the-box operational simplicity, the new industry-standard server makes continuously available computing a cost-effective option for virtually any application requiring high levels of uptime. Built using the 800 MHz Intel® Pentium™ III processor with support for Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Advanced Server operating system, this new server can be ordered now in one- or two-way symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) configurations. The compact 8-U ftServer 3200 model is configured with dual modular redundancy of all major components and subsystems, and will be available in both rack-mount and pedestal models.
